UPDATE Petros Krommidas Missing Nassau County NY, Is He Found or Not?

The Long Island community is growing increasingly concerned after Democratic candidate for Nassau County’s 4th Legislative District, Petros Krommidas, has been reported missing.

Petros, a former student of Chaminade High School and Columbia University, was last seen on Wednesday night around 9:00 PM in Baldwin. His disappearance was officially reported to the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) Missing Persons Squad at 7:35 PM the following evening.

Standing 6’2” tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds, Petros has brown hair and brown eyes. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a camouflage print sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. Authorities believe he may be in the Long Beach area.

Friends, colleagues, and community members have taken to social media to express their shock and concern.
Margaret Halbmeier Wallend, who has seen Petros speak at Nassau Legislative meetings, described him as “a fellow Long Islander who cares deeply about his local community.”

Scott Wolff, a friend and colleague, also shared his feelings, saying, “I am shocked to learn my friend and colleague Petros Krommidas is currently missing.” Wolff urged the public to report any information to the authorities immediately.

Adel Elbehiry, a former karate instructor of Petros, added, “He is not just a public figure; he is a friend and a former student who has a kind heart.”

Helen Voutsinas, another community member, emphasized Petros’ strong ties to Long Island and government work, urging everyone, “Let’s bring him home safely.”

The Nassau County Police Department is urging anyone with information about Petros Krommidas’ whereabouts to contact their Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.

Prayers continue to pour in across Long Island, with many hoping for Petros’ safe and swift return.
